A Tribute to Nat and Canonball Adderley
Recreating the energy and excitement of "Soul Jazz" at the New Smyrna Beach Jazz Festival
The idea of doing a tribute to Nat and Canonball was a natural outgrowth of playing the tune "Work Song" on gigs and noticing that people responded to this song with enthusiasm. I asked Saxophonist Dave MacKenzie to join me and we shared the task of writing and putting together the book. Jazz fans love the gospel and blues sound of Adderley Soul Jazz. We have performed this show numerous times across central and south Florida at varied jazz societies and concert subscription series.
An Evening of George Gershwin with special guest Michael Andrew
Our Tribute to George Gershwin was truly a pleasure to assemble. All the arrangements are written exclusively for the quintet and our featured vocalist/entertainer Michael Andrew.Michae has toured all over the country with his bands "Swingerhead" and the "Atomic Big Band". Michael has also starred in the musical "The Nutty Professor" written by Marvin Hamlisch and directed by comedian Jerry Lewis.It's always a pleasure to work with Michael and audiences are always thrilled with his performance.
